Applicability of Contract Labour Act:
Contract Labour(Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970 extends to whole of India and is applicable to all industries and commercial establishments.
Registration of Contract Labour Act:
Every establishment whether it is industrial or commercial to which this act applies shall get itself register with the registering authority.
License of Contract Labour Act:
Every contractor/sub-contractor to whom this act is applicable shall obtain a license from the licensing authority and such contractor/sub-contractor shall execute or undertake the work through contract labour in accordance with terms of license issued by licensing officer.
Obligation of Payment:
- Contractor/Sub-contractor shall be responsible to pay wages to each worker employed by him as contract Labour.
- Such type of every payment to contract Labour shall be paid in the presence of authorized representative of principal employer.
- In any case when Contractor/subcontractor does not pay to labour in the prescribed period or make short payment then principal employer shall be liable to make payment of wages in full or the due unpaid balance, as the case may be, to the contract labour employed by Cpontractor/subcontractor.
